Cavalier Galleries is pleased to announce our participation in the 2018 Aspen Antiques and Fine Arts Fair. We will be displaying work by the artist Jim Rennert, and featuring his latest pieces- Launch, Rocketman, and WTF. 

Cavalier Galleries is proud to annouce Francine Tint's work Crucifixion (2017, 52"x40", acrylic on canvas) has been selected for the 82nd Mid Year Show at the Butler Institute For American Art.

The exhibition will be on view July 1 - August 28.

Art New York, presented by Art Miami, returns to Pier 94 from May 3-6 offering noteworthy and fresh works by important artists from the contemporary, modern, post-war and pop eras, featuring paintings, photography, prints, drawings, design and sculpture. 

Veteran painter Francine Tint has spent all her life in New York. She has a studio downtown, not far from where she lives on the edge of the West Village. A truly gifted abstract-expressionist artist, Tint was deeply influenced by both the writings and person of Clement Greenberg, who regularly visited her in her studio. Her lyric hand finds expression in wonderfully colorful paintings that incorporate the achievements of the New York School while refusing to succumb to historical reiteration, mawkish emotion, or a grandiose sense of theater.

Art itself is inspired and diverse, it merges and conflates ideas that take the form of creative expression in ways difficult to define. The paintings of Francine Tint are a perfect example of this. At first we may view them as agglomerations of pure pigment, but soon we begin to see portions of her composition stand out from the rest.
