PRESS RELEASE
Cavalier Gallery is pleased to present Color, Light, and Movement: Stimulating the Senses, a group show curated to rouse and explore how we see and feel. The show will run from July 21st to September 1st, with a reception on Thursday, July 24 from 6 – 8 pm at Project 3W57 (3 West 57th Street, 4th Floor).
This exhibition will feature a wide variety of media including paintings, drawings, sculptures, and installations. Each of these works utilize the fundamental elements of design in stimulating ways to create sensory experiences. With dominant color fields, energetic lines, and innovative uses of light, this exhibition covers a broad range of styles from both traditional and unconventional artists.
For example, installed in a dark room, Daniel Bruce’s Rustic Room pieces create sensory deprivation as they pull in the visitor with neon light. Alexander Krivosheiw’s sculpture works are dynamic and smooth, utilizing line and color with their gold and metallic tones. Leonard Everett Fisher uses stark distinctions in color fields, creating simplified but dramatic canvases.
