Patrick O’Brien is the president of the American Society of Marine Artists. O'Brien has been a full-time professional artist and illustrator since the mid-1980s.

Mystic Seaport Museum
O'Brien was the artist-in-residence at the museum in Connecticut in June, 2021. He painted and displayed his work in an historic house on the grounds, and slept on one of Mystic’s historic sailboats.
