BIOGRAPHY
American, b. 1971
ARTIST STATEMENT:
My goal is to develop finished paintings while allowing the initial inspiration of the work to show through. Ideally, a painting is the result of a series of successful stages including; drawing, composition, value, color and brushstrokes. When all the stages work together they create an energy that is greater than any single stage working on its own. It is the ability to respect and retain each stage as I paint that I hope shows through in my work.
My paintings are expressions, in oil and canvas, of my experiences as I create them. My best work requires health, balance, and passion. I paint because it requires so much from me and reflects my experiences back to me when done. Painting is a profoundly moving way for me to get to know myself better and to share that with others.
